The Crimson Fairy Book (Volume 8 of the “Colored Fairy Books"). The “Colored Fairy Books”, by Andrew Lang, together make up one of the largest collections of fairy tales ever compiled from a broad range of cultures and nationalities. In all, the collection presents 437 fairy tales over twelve volumes – each named by a distinctive color. All the volumes have been richly illustrated primarily by Henry J. Ford. The Crimson Fairy Book, first published in 1903, contains the classics “Little Wildrose”, “The Treasure Seeker”, “The Colony of Cats”, “The Magic Kettle”, and 32 other tales.
