Anne's House of Dreams, by Lucy Maud Montgomery, was published in 1917 and chronicles the wedding and new life Anne begins with Gilbert at Four Winds Point on the seashore of Prince Edward Island. Gilbert takes over his uncle’s medical practice and the two move into their first home, their “House of Dreams”, as they begin to start a family. A new set of characters are introduced, including the lighthouse keeper Captain Jim, Miss Cornelia Bryant, Anne’s new confidant Leslie Moore, and the novelist Owen Ford.
