The Pink Fairy Book (Volume 5 of the “Colored Fairy Books"). The “Colored Fairy Books”, by Andrew Lang, together make up one of the largest collections of fairy tales ever compiled from a broad range of cultures and nationalities. In all, the collection presents 437 fairy tales over twelve volumes – each named by a distinctive color. All the volumes have been richly illustrated primarily by Henry J. Ford. The Pink Fairy Book, first published in 1897, contains the classics “The Snow-queen”, “The Wounded Lion”, “How the Dragon Was Tricked”, “The White Dove”, and 37 other tales.
