The Grey Fairy Book (Volume 6 of the “Colored Fairy Books"). The “Colored Fairy Books”, by Andrew Lang, together make up one of the largest collections of fairy tales ever compiled from a broad range of cultures and nationalities. In all, the collection presents 437 fairy tales over twelve volumes – each named by a distinctive color. All the volumes have been richly illustrated primarily by Henry J. Ford. The Grey Fairy Book, first published in 1900, contains the classics “An Impossible Enchantment”, “The White Wolf”, “Prunella”, “The Ogre”, and 31 other tales.
