The Art of War is an ancient Chinese military exposition traditionally attributed to the general Sun Tzu. The book dates back to the 5th century B.C., and is considered the definitive work on military tactics of its time. Some parts of the book offer specific battle strategies; other parts present more general advice applicable to ordinary disagreements and challenges. Military leaders throughout history have drawn from The Art of War’s resources, and even in the 21st century people such as executives and sport coaches have used it to gain the upper hand in their respective careers.
