Having been successfully launched into space en-route to the moon, the three adventurer-astronauts Impey Barbicane, Captain Nicholl, and Michel Ardan begin their fantastic and arduous journey. Will the three land successfully on the moon's surface? Will they be able to return to Earth and survive the trip's dangers? The answers are found as they complete their circuit around Earth's satellite amazingly foreshadowing the Apollo missions not yet to happen for 100 years.
