20,000 Leagues Under the Seas, by Jules Verne, was first published in 1870. Troubling maritime news has spread across the world: a mysterious sea monster has been sighted by many ships and an ocean liner is attacked. Finally, an expedition is formed by the United States government to find and destroy the creature. The notable marine biologist Professor Pierre Aronnax is invited to participate in the hunt. Pierre, along with Canadian master harpoonist Ned Land begin an adventure above and below the waves as they rush toward their fateful encounter with Captain Nemo.
